STUD FOR ARC WELDING (TYPE MPF)

ELEMENTS FOR SHORT ARC AND DRAWN ARC WELDING

WITH THREADS FROM M6 TO M20

The arc welding stud (type MPF) is a threaded element designed to ensure high mechanical strength and effective structural welding. The threading extends almost to the welding tip, while the welding section diameter corresponds to the full wire diameter from which the stud is produced. As a result, the weld bead is approximately 3–4 mm wider than the thread diameter, ensuring excellent adhesion to the base material and uniform stress distribution.

Thanks to its geometry, the stud (type MPF) is suitable for applications requiring strong fastening, such as in heavy carpentry, steel structures, and industrial machinery. The mechanical load capacity of the stud (type MPF) is equivalent to that of a standard grade 4.8 bolt, making it reliable for various assembly configurations. It is supplied complete with ceramic ferrule and available with threads ranging from M6 to M20, covering a wide range of uses from metal construction to the manufacturing of frames, equipment, or technical panels.

Welding of the stud (type MPF) can be performed using drawn arc with ceramic ferrule and an arc stud welding machine, or, under certain limitations, via gas-shielded arc welding, particularly in environments where cleaner joints or minimal spatter are required.

Production of the arc welding stud (type MPF) uses materials compliant with international technical standards:

  • Steel 4.8, for standard applications with medium strength
  • Stainless steel A2-50, for environments exposed to humidity or mild corrosion
  • Stainless steel 1.4571 (AISI 316Ti), for chemically aggressive environments or high-temperature conditions
