Copper alloy electrodes with threaded connection are used when it is necessary to use one or more resistance welding electrodes that must ensure a well-defined protruding portion of its electrode holder on which they are inserted, this result is not achieved by using a standard electrode constructed with its conicity.
The threaded electrodes for spot welding are constructed with threaded column considering to have a support base in function to the welding current that is used, this because with the conical plug, the current is transmitted by the conicity while with the threaded column electrode we cannot transfer the welding current through the threaded part but is transmitted by the support base.
