INDUSTRY 4.0: HERE ARE THE NEW GOVERNMENT INCENTIVES

Digital transformation is today a priority for the manufacturing world and the entire country. The government is strongly committed to accompanying this process, including through a National Plan aimed at adopting the new technologies of Enterprise 4.0 and strengthening the digital skills needed by Italian companies to compete.

These fiscal measures aim to increase the modernisation of businesses through the introduction of innovative technological solutions. For this reason, the 2017 Budget Law also extended the super depreciation and introduced the hyper depreciation, both of which allow entrepreneurs to make significant tax savings:

- Hyper depreciation allows a 250% super depreciation on investments in new tangible assets, including all those devices or technologies that enable the transformation to a 4.0 perspective, whether purchased or leased.

- With the super-amortisation, on the other hand, investments in new capital goods, whether purchased or leased, can be super-valued by up to 140%, with the opportunity to also benefit from the bonus for intangible goods.

The guidelines of the goods to which the bonus can be applied are listed in Annex A of the appendix to the Circular, and concern all those machines useful to technologically innovate the enterprise, such as those controlled by computerised systems, systems that guarantee quality and sustainability, or mechanisms that facilitate man-machine interaction, improve ergonomics, and increase workplace safety.

An example of capital goods falling into the described categories are automatic capacitor discharge stud welding benches. Among the benches manufactured by A.T.S. S.r.l., there is the ‘T-Series’ model with a working area x/y (mm) of 1000 x 700, 1250 x 850 or 1500 x 1000. The ‘V Series’ automatic welding bench is designed to use from one to four automatic welding heads, with movement speeds of up to 60 m/s, fully customisable to customer requirements.
