COPPER ALLOYS: (Cu-ETP), (CuCrZr), (CuBe)

COPPER AND COPPER ALLOYS

COPPER AND SPECIAL ALLOYS: FOR THE MANUFACTURING OF RESISTANCE WELDING ELECTRODES

Copper alloys are essential in the production of resistance welding electrodes due to their excellent mechanical and electrical properties. These alloys are available in various forms, including flat bars and round bars, and can be customized according to specific customer requirements.

  • Electrolytic Copper (Cu-ETP): With 99.9% purity, it offers high electrical and thermal conductivity, making it ideal for applications requiring efficient electrical transmission.
  • Beryllium Copper (CuBe1 and CuBe2 / CW101C): These alloys combine high mechanical strength with good electrical conductivity. (CuBe2), in particular, is known for its exceptional hardness and resistance, making it useful for manufacturing components subject to high stress.
  • Chromium Zirconium Copper (CuCrZr / CW106C): This alloy combines good electrical conductivity with high mechanical resistance, thanks to the addition of chromium and zirconium. It is particularly suitable for applications requiring durability and performance under thermal stress.
  • Cobalt-Nickel-Beryllium Copper (Cu-Co-Ni-Be / CW103C): This heat-treatable alloy balances mechanical strength and electrical conductivity, making it versatile for various industrial applications.

Production Processes: Copper alloys such as (Cu-ETP), (CuBe1), and (CuBe2) are generally produced through continuous casting or extrusion, followed by drawing processes to achieve tight dimensional tolerances. Other alloys, like chromium zirconium copper and beryllium copper, can also be manufactured using shell casting, ensuring structural uniformity and optimal mechanical properties.

Main Applications
Due to their characteristics, these alloys are widely used in the manufacturing of:

  • Resistance welding electrodes: Their high conductivity and wear resistance make them ideal for ensuring reliable and durable joints.
  • Rolls for seam welders: Alloys like (CuCrZr) are used for their ability to maintain high performance even under thermal and mechanical stress.
  • Electrode holders: Components requiring a combination of mechanical strength and electrical conductivity to ensure efficiency in the welding process.

The availability of these alloys in different forms and sizes allows industries to meet specific needs, providing high-quality materials for specialized applications.
