SELF-CLINCHING FASTENERS

Self-clinching fasteners

Self-clinching threaded inserts are positioned into properly drilled holes in sheet metal and, by applying pressure, achieve a high-strength mechanical fastening.

Self-clinching pressure-threaded inserts represent a cold fastening system for sheet metal. Their installation requires correctly sized holes in the metal sheet and gradual mounting pressure, which can be applied using specific hydraulic or pneumatic presses for automatic fastenings, ensuring robust and watertight closures.

Available in various types: pressure clinch pins, nuts, standoffs, pillars, captivated screws, and dowels, along with standoffs for printed circuit boards. A.T.S. provides self-clinching inserts in galvanized steel, 303 stainless steel, and 400 stainless steel.

FAQ and insights

Self-clinching studs are threaded inserts that, once inserted into a correct hole in the sheet and adequate pressure applied, provide a high-strength mechanical fixation.

The main advantages include:

  • High-strength mechanical fixing.

  • Quick and easy installation.

  • No welding or heat required.

  • Availability in different types and materials.

A.T.S. Lamberti offers a wide range of self-clinching studs including:

  • Self-clinching pressure studs

  • Self-clinching pressure nuts

  • Self-clinching pressure spacers

  • Self clinching pressure standoffs

  • Self-clinching pressure flush head pins

  • Self-clinching pressure standoffs for printed circuit board

A.T.S. Lamberti supplies self-clinching studs in:

  • Galvanised steel

  • Stainless steel 303

  • Stainless steel 400

Self clinching studs are commonly used in industrial applications where reliable and strong fastening on thin sheet metal is required, such as in electronic equipment manufacturing, automotive, and metal construction.
