DISKS AND ROLLS FOR RESISTANCE WELDING

DISKS AND ROLLS FOR CONTINUOUS WELDINGS

DISKS AND ROLLS FOR CONTINUOUS WELDINGS

A.T.S. is a qualified supplier of disks and rolls for resistance welders; this technique is used both to join two sheets of metal quickly, where long linear welding sections are required, and for watertight containers or tanks.

In the family of resistance welders there are "rolls" welders, so called because instead of having tips that descend vertically, there are disks or rolls that rotate, thus performing a weld with multiple spots, adjustable in intensity, frequency and distance between one and the other.

These rolls are driven by a motor whose heads can have either only a traction on the upper disk that with the advancement drags the lower head in neutral, or the double traction controlled by a differential that in the case of sealing, allows the full adhesion to the sheet metal, transmitting the heat suitable for the fusion of the two sheets.

When long stretches of linear welding are to be carried out where watertightness is not required, a single driving head can be used, modulating the welding and using hot times interspersed with cold times, so as to avoid changes in the flatness of the part.

On the other hand, when carrying out watertight welding of tanks or similar artefacts, it is necessary to modulate the speeds of the motors so as to overlap the welds as if they were a seam .

In the bends, the differential and any appropriate current adjustment are useful as they allow us to make correct welds.

As with all electrodes used in resistance welding, the rolls must also be cooled as best as possible by creating channels in the coupling with the rolls holders.

Sometimes when required, they can be cooled with an external water jet to prevent overheating at the edge.

By providing us with the characteristics of your welding machine, A.T.S. will be able to supply you with the most suitable disks and rolls for your welding needs.
